Chapter 99

Seeing the gun tucked into the bodyguard's waistband, Billy's heart nearly jumped out of his chest. The guy radiated danger, and Billy could feel it in his bones.

Billy wasn't about to try anything stupid now. He got up, grabbed his bike, and bolted.

The bodyguard stood up, flashing a genuine smile of 'a 24-year-old college student.'

"Mr. Williams, this guy's a faker. He probably saw you were a tourist and thought he could scam you. If you help him, he'll claim you pushed him," the bodyguard explained, leaving Isabella both shocked and pissed.

Even if Isabella doubted the bodyguard's take on Billy, she couldn't ignore what she saw. Billy had claimed his legs were in agony, yet he managed to run off with a bike. Clearly, he was full of it.

"My dear Isabella, looks like you lost," Michael teased as he walked over.

Isabella blushed and shot Michael a reproachful look. "I'm just not as familiar with this place as you are. Fine, I lost. What do you want me to do?"

Michael smirked, his eyes roaming over Isabella like he was undressing her with his gaze. Isabella instinctively covered her chest, glaring at him.

Just as Isabella was about to warn Michael not to make any crazy demands, Michael shrugged. "I haven't decided yet. Let's wait and see."

Isabella let out a sigh of relief. For a moment, her mind had been filled with scenes straight out of a dirty movie.

If Michael suggested those awkward sexual positions, Isabella might not refuse, but she still felt shy and nervous.

"What are you thinking? Why is your face getting redder? Are you getting a fever?" Michael reached out and touched Isabella's forehead.

Isabella leaned back. "I'm fine. What's our next plan?"

Michael couldn't figure out what Isabella was thinking, so he shrugged and pulled out his phone to check the itinerary he had set up the night before.

"We're going to watch a movie. It's a popular sci-fi flick," Michael said.

Isabella nodded and linked arms with Michael as they walked towards the nearby movie theater, bodyguards in tow.

Meanwhile, Billy pushed his bike over to where Bob and the others were.

"How could you chicken out like that? You were so embarrassing! Did you forget the task I gave you? You're such a coward," Bob snapped at Billy.

Billy was furious. He knocked over the bike and made a gun shape with his hand. "Do you know those bodyguards are packing heat? They're not just any bodyguards; they've been to war and killed people. Just one look from them nearly made me piss myself, and you want me to plant drugs in Isabella's bag right in front of them? Are you serious?"

Billy angrily threw the bag of white powder at Bob. "If you want to complete your task, do it yourself. Don't drag us into it. We're not ready to die with you." He flipped Bob the bird and stormed off.

The people around Bob started to look uneasy after hearing Billy's words.

Bob's face darkened. He wanted to strangle Billy right then and there, but he knew he couldn't. If he did, his crew would see him as a ruthless tyrant. Even if they didn't bolt now, they'd probably stab him in the back later.

Bob knew he had to win them back.

"Hey, everyone, I know Billy's words freaked you out. But think about the lives we had before! Now there's a golden opportunity right in front of us! All we need to do is slip that bag of white powder into Isabella's purse! We'll be rolling in cash every night," Bob said, trying to reel them in with the promise of money.

For this bunch of thugs, cash was the ultimate motivator.

One of the female thugs spoke up, "They're headed to a nearby cinema, probably to catch a movie. The cinema might be our best shot. My cousin works there; I can get us some uniforms. We can disguise ourselves as staff and sneak in. Maybe we'll find an opening."

Bob's eyes lit up; this was a solid plan.

Led by the female thug, the group made their way to the movie theater.

The female thug found her cousin, chatted her up to keep her distracted, while Bob and the others sneaked into the staff changing room and swiped some uniforms.

Just as they were getting ready, the female thug suddenly stopped them. "Damn it, my cousin just told me that a rich guy rented out the entire cinema! Every employee knows about it. If you show up in the theater, the bodyguards will definitely get suspicious."

Her words made Bob and the others' hearts sink.

"Damn it, what now?" Bob angrily scratched his head, then his eyes landed on the women's restroom, and a bold idea hit him.

"Wait a minute, if I remember right, only two of those twelve bodyguards are women, right? This might be our only shot! Listen up, everyone." Bob gestured for his crew to huddle up as he laid out his plan.

In the theater, Isabella sat next to Michael, glancing around the empty hall. It was just the two of them and their bodyguards, with no other customers in sight.

Isabella had no idea Michael had rented out the entire showing. She looked at him, puzzled, and asked, "I checked online, and this movie has great reviews. Why is it just us here?"

Michael shrugged. "How would I know? Maybe the studio paid for good reviews from online users or critics. The movie might not live up to the hype, which is why no one showed up."

"That could be true. This movie has been out for a while. Maybe everyone who wanted to see it has already seen it." Isabella smiled and let it go.

After a while, the theater door opened, and Bob and the others walked in carrying trays with snacks and drinks.
