Chapter 110

Ever since Isabella ran into Scarlett's nastiness, she couldn't help but be on guard.

Even though Isabella didn't want to face it, but her enemies were getting totally vicious, like she was playing some crazy death game.

Bianca almost stole her kidney! Then her own parents tried to marry her off to John, pushing her to the edge. After that, Pearl wanted her gang-raped and left to die of some awful disease. And to top it all off, Scarlett wanted her devoured by jungle beasts.

Sometimes, Isabella just wanted to ask God what she did to deserve all this. When she liked John, she was a target. Now that she didn't like him anymore and chose to marry Michael, she was still a target.

Isabella was beyond frustrated; she really wanted to scream about this messed-up world.

There was this saying online that fate was like a relentless boxer. If you couldn't beat him, protect yourself and just hang in there. Eventually, you'd get tougher.

Installing cameras in her room was Isabella's way of protecting herself. It might seem extreme, but in critical moments, it became the most crucial evidence.

Isabella couldn't even imagine what would have happened if she hadn't installed that camera in her room, which caught Scarlett framing her.

Would anyone believe her if they found drugs in her suitcase?

Even if Isabella kept shouting that the drugs weren't hers, who would believe her, especially in a foreign country?

Only the person who framed you knew how innocent you truly were.

What comforted Isabella was that Michael had always been by her side, supporting her. Even when she suggested installing pinhole cameras in the room, he didn't object. He only turned them off during their private moments.

At this point, Scarlett was completely speechless, realizing she had walked right into Isabella's trap. The reason the servant had so easily found the drugs must have been that Isabella had tipped her off. This was a setup against her!

Kenna tapped his cane, his cold eyes fixed on Scarlett and Lyanna. "You owe me an explanation for this."

Before Scarlett could speak, Lyanna slapped her hard.

"How could you do such a thing? Last time you almost killed Ms. Taylor, and now you want to ruin her reputation? Do you really hate her that much?" Lyanna scolded, both anxious and furious. In her anger, she slapped Scarlett twice more.

Scarlett felt the sting on her face. She covered her cheeks and looked at Lyanna with some fear. "Mom, please believe me, I didn't mean for this to happen. Yesterday, when I was in the bathroom on the second floor, Isabella came in. She hit me and kicked me. I had already apologized, so why did she still treat me like that? I felt so hurt, that's why I thought of framing her."

Lyanna frowned at Isabella. "Isabella, is this true?"

Isabella almost laughed out of anger. Scarlett was indeed a master of lying. What she said was true, but she left out the exact timing.

"Ms. Ramirez, do you think I only installed a camera in my room? I also installed one in the hallway, and it just so happens that it also records both time and sound," Isabella said, causing Scarlett's face to change again.

"Because I didn't expect you to use such a method to defend yourself, I haven't yet transferred the footage from the camera outside the bathroom. But that's okay, I can have someone prepare it right now," Isabella continued, calling over a bodyguard to retrieve the surveillance footage.

"No need, I admit it. I do hate you because you took Michael, whom I've always loved!" Scarlett glared at Isabella with fierce eyes, dropping all her pretenses.

Lyanna had planned to slap Scarlett a few times to show Kenna their sincerity, and maybe lessen Scarlett's punishment. But Scarlett seemed to have found a better way.

"Kenna, you know I've grown up with Michael. I've spent more time with you than with my own parents! You even suggested to my parents that I should marry Michael! My parents have always raised me as Michael's wife! All these years, we've never stopped striving, and I believed I was his wife. But what did Michael do? He betrayed me!" Scarlett shouted at Michael through her tears.

Kenna took a deep breath, the anger in his eyes replaced by regret.

Michael stood up from the sofa, his cold gaze fixed on Scarlett. "I have always considered you a friend, and that is why I endured your presence for so long. While my father may have suggested marriage, I never consented, neither as a child nor now. I pursue only what I desire, and that includes the woman I love!"

After speaking, Michael pulled Isabella up from the sofa and held her tightly. "Isabella, tell me, how do you plan to punish Scarlett for harming you a second time?"

Isabella glared at Michael, speechless. How could she punish her? Didn't he see the regret and pity in Kenna's eyes? He must still care about the ties with Scarlett's family.

Suddenly, Michael winked at Isabella.

Isabella immediately understood Michael's intention, thinking, 'He wants me to forgive Scarlett in front of Kenna again to gain more of his favor. Guilt has its limits. Scarlett's two attempts to frame me have already tested Kenna's patience to its breaking point. Michael wants to use this incident to sever the ties between the two families!'

A smile appeared on Isabella's face. She walked over and took Kenna's arm, smiling as she said, "It's okay, Dad. I wasn't seriously hurt this time. I'm sure Scarlett's parents will deal with her fairly."

Lyanna quickly nodded in agreement. "Rest assured, I'll make sure Scarlett learns her lesson when we return. I'll ground her and put a hold on her bank accounts until she grasps the gravity of her actions."

Kenna patted Isabella's arm and sighed, shaking his head. "This is the last time. If it happens again, there will be no more ties between our families."

Lyanna's face changed instantly. She knew this was the best outcome; otherwise, Michael would definitely send Scarlett to jail.

"I'm sorry, we'll leave now," Lyanna said, pulling Scarlett away quickly.

After they left, Michael turned to Bob, who had been silent in the corner. "Almost forgot about you. Isabella, how do you plan to deal with him? Should we bury him alive?"
