Chapter 93

After hearing Isabella's words, Michael immediately ordered his crew to search the forest. They soon found the dead wild boar in a pit.

They quickly tied up the boar and hauled it back to the hunting ground.

"I remember Kenna saying he loved hunting when he was young. Why don't we take this wild boar back as a gift for him? The staff at the villa can also enjoy a meal of wild boar meat!" Isabella suggested with a smile.

Michael crouched down to inspect the boar. There were no visible wounds on its body, indicating it was indeed killed by internal injuries from the kangaroos' kicks.

Looking at the huge boar carcass on the ground, Michael felt a chill. If it hadn't been for those two kangaroos, it could have been Isabella lying here instead.

Michael's eyes narrowed as he stared at the boar's body, a cold glint in his eyes. "You're right, this boar almost killed you! We must eat it as revenge!"

Michael waved his hand, and his crew immediately brought a truck, tossed the boar into it, and drove towards the mansion.

"By the way, I hunted a little wild boar today. I was planning to roast it for you, but since you've already had takeout and your stomach is probably full, let's take it back, and I'll roast it for you tomorrow!" Michael said with a smile, signaling for his men to bring up the wild boar he had hunted.

Isabella looked at the small wild boar on the ground in surprise. Although it wasn't as big as the previous boar, it was still as big as a wolfhound. Michael had managed to take it down with just a single arrow. Most surprisingly, the little boar was still alive.

To keep the meat fresh, Michael had his men treat the boar's leg wound to prevent it from bleeding out.

"Well, I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to taste your cooking," Isabella said with a shrug.

Michael waved his hand, and his crew immediately took the small wild boar away.

"It's getting late. Let's go back. We've been outside for too long. My dad called me just now, and I didn't dare to tell him you were missing. Now we should go back and let him know you're safe," Michael said, gently touching Isabella's hair and leading her away from the hunting ground.

When Michael and Isabella returned home, Kenna was delighted to see the huge wild boar being carried in.

"You're finally back! Did Michael nab this wild boar? Well done, Michael has always had a knack for hunting!" Kenna praised.

However, Michael shook his head, pointing to the small wild boar next to it. "That small wild boar is my prey. The big one was taken down by Isabella."

Kenna was stunned. With his hunting experience, he could tell that the dead wild boar had no external injuries and seemed to have been beaten to death. How could Isabella, with her physique, possibly take down a full-grown wild boar?

Isabella's face turned red, and she shook her head and waved her hands, indicating that she hadn't killed the wild boar.

"Dad, you've got it all wrong. I didn't take down this boar. When I ran into it, two kangaroos showed up and kicked it to the curb," Isabella explained hastily, recounting how she was rescued by the kangaroos after facing the wild boar.

Isabella shot a glare at Michael after she finished speaking. Michael hadn't told Kenna the whole story. Kenna must have misunderstood her, and she didn't want Kenna to think she was some kind of ruthless person.

To Isabella's surprise, as soon as she finished speaking, Kenna gave Michael a hard whack on the butt with his cane.

Michael clutched his butt and let out a yelp, "Are you crazy, Dad? Why did you hit me?"

Kenna angrily pointed at Michael and shouted, "Don't think I'm dumb. Wild boars don't just pop up in hunting spots! How did you look out for Isabella? Are you even a man? You can't even protect your wife, and she was saved by kangaroos. You're embarrassing me!"

"I was tricked!" Michael said, rubbing his sore butt with a pained expression.

Isabella quickly shielded Michael behind her. "Dad, don't blame Michael. I thought he was attacked by wild animals, so I went into the jungle to find him. He didn't know what was happening, and as soon as he realized I was missing, he sent a lot of people to search for me in the forest!"

Isabella shielded Michael as they backed into the villa. When they reached the stairs, Isabella waved behind her, and Michael quickly ran up the stairs.

Kenna watched Isabella protect Michael, a hint of relief in his eyes, but his expression remained stern.

"Don't fall for it! He couldn't keep you safe, and that's on him." Kenna kept on berating Michael for his carelessness.

Isabella sighed and shook her head. If it were anyone else criticizing Michael, she would have stood up for him. But Kenna was Michael's father and had the right to reprimand him.

Isabella gently walked over and took Kenna's arm, her voice soft and pleading. "Dad, please forgive Michael. He didn't mean to, and he promised to make roasted boar for me tomorrow. If you beat him up, where will I get my roasted boar fix?"

Kenna nodded. Isabella gave him a reason not to scold Michael; he had to accept this favor.

"I'm really sorry, Isabella. I didn't expect you to encounter such danger so soon after arriving here." Kenna patted Isabella's arm and sighed.

A touch of emotion flashed in Isabella's eyes. "It's okay. I will take care of myself in the future."

After chatting with Kenna for a while, Isabella went upstairs. She had spent too long in the forest today and needed a bath to clean up.

When Isabella opened the bedroom door, Michael suddenly pulled her into his arms.

"Thank you for saving me from my father's wrath," Michael teased, his voice close to Isabella's ear.

Isabella's face turned red, and she pushed Michael away in embarrassment. "Stay away from me. I need to take a bath. I have scratches on my body that need ointment, or they will leave scars."

However, Michael suddenly picked up Isabella and walked towards the bathroom. "To thank you, I must serve you. Let me think, what can I do for you? Oh, right, you can't reach your back, can you? I can help you wash it."
