Chapter 189

Michael didn't want to dwell on the topic.

"I just took one, so nothing yet. Ask me again in a few days," With that, Michael turned on the TV.

Benjamin understood that Michael wanted to change the subject, so he shrugged and started talking about something else.

A few hours later, Benjamin and Amelia left Michael's villa.

After Michael and Isabella took a bath, they lay in bed. This time, they simply hugged each other to sleep without engaging in any sexual activity. Michael believed he had enough self-control.

The next day, Leo drove Isabella to work.

As Isabella arrived at the company building and was about to enter, she saw a familiar face.

"Charles, what are you doing here?" Isabella asked, puzzled.

Charles smiled and replied, "I'm here to deliver something to you on behalf of Mr. Williams. Since we didn't know where you live, we had to come to the company to find you."

"What did Mason ask you to deliver?" Isabella asked curiously.

Charles pointed to a car. "Isabella, Mr. Williams said nobody else should see this. Let's go to the car."

Isabella nodded and followed Charles to the black car. She trusted that Charles wouldn't harm her.

Meanwhile, Leo didn't go far. When he saw Isabella get into Charles' car, he immediately called Michael to inform him.

Michael frowned upon receiving the call.

"I understand. Don't worry about it; just head to the parking lot," Michael instructed Leo before hanging up.

'Could Mason have figured something out? Why did he send Charles over?' Michael pondered, his brow furrowed.

Meanwhile, inside the car, Charles handed Isabella a small box.

"Isabella, this is what Mr. Williams wanted me to give you," Charles said with a smile.

Isabella opened the small box to find a bronze ring inside. It looked mysterious, like an antique.

"Charles, what's this ring for?" Isabella asked, puzzled by Mason's intentions.

'Is Mason planning to propose to me on behalf of John?' Isabella thought but quickly dismissed it as too far-fetched.

Charles looked at Isabella seriously and said, "Isabella, Mr. Williams didn't give many details. He only asked me to tell you that this ring can help you regain control of the Taylor family."

Isabella's expression changed instantly. She didn't understand how this ring could help her regain control of the Taylor family, but she knew Mason had already guessed what she was planning to do next.

'It seems Charles is clueless about the ring. Guess I'll have to ask Mason myself,' Isabella thought.

"Charles, please tell Mason that I'll visit him in a few days," Isabella said with a smile, carefully putting the ring away before getting out of the car.

When Isabella re-entered the company, she was greeted with confetti and cheers.

Her colleagues in the design department were celebrating her victory in a lawsuit.

Faced with their enthusiasm, Isabella smiled politely and greeted each one.

However, Madeline and Odette were not among those enthusiastic colleagues.

"What's so proud about cutting ties with her biological parents? I guess I get it, though - not everyone gets betrayed by their own parents like that," Odette sneered, crossing her arms.

Isabella acted as if she didn't see Odette and Madeline, walking straight past them towards her office.

"This is so infuriating! She just ignored us. Ms. Eve, she doesn't respect us at all," Odette said angrily to Madeline, pointing at Isabella's back.

Madeline gave Isabella's back a cold glance and shook her head. "Ignore her. Let's just focus on our own work."

When Isabella reached her office, she received congratulations from Juliet.

"Ms. Taylor, congratulations! You've finally got rid of your awful parents. You know, when I heard the evidence you presented, I was furious. I couldn't believe there were parents like that in the world!" Juliet said, waving her hands in anger.

Isabella smiled and shook her head. "Easy now, there's no need to get worked up about this."

Just as Isabella was about to sit down, Juliet remembered something.

"Oh, Ms. Taylor, Mr. Larson wants to see you. He asked me to tell you to go to his office when you arrive," Juliet said.

"Mr. Larson wants to see me? I wonder what it's about," Isabella said, puzzled. If it were an urgent work matter, Dwayne would have called her directly. Since he asked Juliet to relay the message, it probably wasn't serious.

"Got it. I'll go see him," Isabella said with a smile, heading to Dwayne's office.

Dwayne was reading a document in his office. When he heard a knock, he told the person to come in and saw it was Isabella.

"Mr. Larson, you wanted to see me?" Isabella asked with a smile.

Dwayne placed a document in front of Isabella. "First, congratulations on winning the lawsuit. Second, there's a design competition coming up. Do you have any interest in participating?"

Isabella picked up the document and read it. It was a design competition organized by several of the world's top cosmetics companies.

The winner would receive high-end cosmetics from each participating company.

The real purpose of the competition was to showcase new products to the public, much like an auto show.

Although everyone knew what it was about, designers were more focused on the rankings. Winning would bring significant recognition in the industry.

After reading the document, Isabella smiled and placed it back on the table. "Sorry, Mr. Larson, but I don't plan to participate in this design competition."
