Chapter 132
Changing someone's hobbies and habits is tough, but their tastes and opinions can shift over time.
Isabella was checking out footage of Kevin at different business events over the years, paying close attention to his clothes and accessories. From these, she could get a sense of what Kevin liked.
Then, something caught her eye.
No matter the event, Kevin's wife was always with him. With her designer instincts kicking in, Isabella quickly pulled up the product designs from Kevin's company over the years.
"All these designs go perfectly with his wife's jewelry!" Isabella grinned.
She jumped online to dig up info on Kevin's wife but only found out her name was Gabrielle Nguyen and she was from Thalassia.
Leaning back in her chair, Isabella crossed her arms and frowned. "Kevin's company's past designs were all his work. He's a pretty good designer, and it looks like his inspiration comes from Gabrielle's style. Kevin clearly loves Gabrielle, but there's hardly any info about her. Plus, Kevin's never mentioned that his design ideas come from Gabrielle. So, I can guess that Gabrielle doesn't like being in the spotlight! This complicates things."
Isabella rubbed her temples and called Dwayne to see if he had any more info on Kevin's wife.
Dwayne was a bit surprised when he got Isabella's call, then shook his head. "Sorry, Isabella. All I know is that Mr. Hamilton has a wife. I don't even know her name."
Isabella hung up, feeling a bit let down. She'd have to find another way.
After hanging up, Dwayne thought for a moment before calling Michael to fill him in.
"I get it. Tell Isabella there's a scientific banquet tomorrow at 6 PM on the 17th floor of the Skyline Tower. Kevin and Gabrielle will be there," Michael said before hanging up.
Michael smiled, impressed that Isabella had quickly figured out the link between Kevin and Gabrielle. He had planned to find a way to subtly give Isabella this clue.
"My wife is incredibly sharp," Michael said proudly.
Just then, Michael got a message from Jerry with a woman's profile and photo.
Michael looked at the photo and info, his expression tightening a bit. This was the fake marriage candidate Jerry had picked for him.
The woman was Estella Foster, a little-known actress from abroad. She was decent-looking, but not as stunning as Isabella. Jerry chose her because Estella's personal life was pretty clean, no scandals. Plus, she was desperate to become famous; her dream was to be an international star.
Michael was pleased with Jerry's choice. People with strong ambitions were easier to control, so he decided to have Estella play the role of his fake wife.
After shooting a message to Jerry, Michael put his phone down and took a deep breath.
He wasn't ready to spill all the beans just yet. He needed more time to strengthen his bond with Isabella. By then, even if his true identity came out, she'd be more likely to accept him.
Meanwhile, Dwayne, following Michael's orders, contacted Isabella to brief her on the event Kevin and Gabrielle would be attending.
"Mr. Larson, how did you know about this event? Didn't you say you didn't know much about Kevin and his wife Gabrielle?" Isabella asked, confused.
Dwayne pointed upwards. "I don't know, but someone else does. The boss asked me to pass this info to you."
Isabella paused for a moment; she knew exactly who Dwayne was talking about. It was none other than John's uncle, the most famous and mysterious man abroad.
But she couldn't figure out why John's uncle was still willing to help her, especially since she had broken off her engagement with John.
'Could it be that Mr. Williams is helping me out of respect for Mason? That's possible. Or maybe he really values this project and wants me to create the best design to keep the partnership with Mr. Hamilton alive,' Isabella thought, feeling she'd cracked the case.
Although Isabella didn't have any special feelings for the mysterious Mr. Williams, she was very grateful for the opportunity he provided, so she had to take this task seriously.
"Mr. Larson, please thank Mr. Williams for me," Isabella said with a smile before leaving the office.
Back in her own office, Isabella immediately reviewed photos and videos of Kevin and Gabrielle at various events, trying to figure out Gabrielle's preferences.
Suddenly, she noticed a clue. At various business events, the hosts always provided refreshments. But Gabrielle always held a glass of juice, indicating she didn't like alcohol. But on one occasion, she was holding a glass of red wine, and she seemed to enjoy it, frequently taking sips.
Isabella quickly searched online for the event's host and called to ask about the name of the red wine.
The person on the other end was very friendly and immediately told Isabella the name of the wine.
After hanging up, Isabella searched online but only found that the wine came from the Aurora Continent, with no other information.
Isabella covered her forehead and smiled wryly. "Oh my, where am I supposed to find this wine?"
The wine that Gabrielle liked wasn't from an expensive brand; it was simply made but tasted very good. Its rarity, due to low production and limited distribution, made it difficult to obtain. Isabella had never heard of this wine before.
Scratching her head, Isabella suddenly remembered Scarlett's family had given her a vineyard as an apology when she was in Seraphim.
Since Isabella didn't know how to manage a vineyard, she had asked Michael to find someone to manage it for her. Maybe Michael would know something about this wine.
