Chapter 207

When Isabella got back to the office, she ran into the ever-annoying Odette and Madeline again.

Odette stepped in front of Isabella. "Isabella, I need your signature on this document. I couldn't find you all morning and heard you left during work hours. As a leader, how can you ignore company rules?"

Odette sneered, raising her voice to make Isabella look bad.

Isabella shot her a cold look. "Hand me the document."

Odette was caught off guard.

Isabella frowned. "Didn't you say you had a document for me to sign? Bring it over."

Odette was kind of embarrassed. She was just messing with Isabella, didn't think she'd actually want to sign anything. But she had a whole bunch of stuff needing Isabella's signature, so she gave her the latest forms.

Isabella barely glanced at them before slamming the papers on the table in front of Odette. "Is this the design your team came up with? The client's requirements were clear. Did you even look at them? Tell Madeline to come to my office."

With that, Isabella walked straight into her office, leaving Odette standing there, stunned.

"That woman is infuriating. How dare she order me around?" Odette muttered, clenching her fists in anger.

Isabella was having a rotten day, and Odette had the bad luck to rub her the wrong way. Their company did packaging design, and Isabella, as director, was in charge of all the projects.

Before, Isabella would calmly walk employees through their mistakes, explaining client requirements and helping them create designs that worked. But with Odette, she didn't bother with kid gloves.

Isabella didn't care whether Odette and Madeline would come to her office as she told them. If they did, Isabella would give them a good talking-to. If they didn't, it would give Isabella more reason to target them.

Isabella remembered the USB drive Odette had used on her computer. It probably had a virus, and she needed to get it back from Odette.

As Isabella tapped her fingers lightly on the desk, a plan quickly formed in her mind.

Meanwhile, Odette found Madeline and recounted her conversation with Isabella.

"That pathetic woman's about to be fired. The nerve of her, ordering me around!" Odette sneered.

Madeline tapped her fingers on the desk. "We have only two days left to execute our plan. It's best not to provoke Isabella in these two days. Let's go to her office."

"What? Why should we give her that respect? Just because she says so, we have to go?" Odette grumbled.

Madeline glared. "Just two more days. What's the big deal? You really want to give her a reason to rat us out to Dwayne before she's gone?"

Hearing this, Odette had no choice but to comply. She stood up and followed Madeline as they headed to Isabella's office.

Isabella was buried in paperwork when she heard a knock on the door. Without looking up, she said, "Come in."

"Isabella, what do you need?" Madeline asked, her tone icy.

Isabella glanced up to see Madeline and Odette standing there. She straightened up, crossed her arms, and asked, "Madeline, remember our bet? The loser has to follow the winner's orders and complete all tasks diligently, right?"

Madeline nodded. "That's right. So, Ms. Taylor, are you unhappy with my work?"

Isabella stood up and pointed to the documents on her desk. "Ms. Eve, while we have personal differences, they shouldn't impact your work! The client wanted a minimalist design. Does this look minimalist to you?"

Madeline frowned. The client wasn't particularly important to her, so she hadn't paid much attention to their requirements and had delegated the task to her team.

Now, it was clear this was a work issue, not a personal one.

Madeline picked up the documents, her expression darkening.

Madeline was skilled in design and could see that the designs were overly complicated, lacking any minimalist style, and looked like a child's scribbles.

Madeline glared at Odette. "Odette, what's going on? How could you make such a basic mistake?"

Odette was embarrassed. Her team had barely looked at the client's product before diving into the design, totally ignoring the extra requirements. She'd never thought Isabella would notice.

"Actually, I thought a minimalist style didn't suit the client's new product, so our team came up with a new theme..." Odette started, but Isabella cut her off.

"Actually, you didn't even bother to look at the client's requirements, did you? Before you came, I asked your team members about the client's needs, and none of them could answer. This level of disregard is unacceptable." Isabella glared coldly at Odette and Madeline.

"Do you think just because the client is a small company, you can ignore them?" Isabella slammed her hand on the desk in anger.

Madeline knew they were at fault this time, so she didn't argue with Isabella.

"This was our oversight. I will take responsibility and personally design what the client needs," Madeline said.

"Of course, it's your responsibility, but what about your team? That kind of attitude? Unacceptable. How can we trust them?"

She then announced, "Ms. Eve, your bonus will be reduced by 20% this month. The rest of the team members will have their bonuses reduced by 10% each."

After Isabella announced the punishment, Madeline and Odette felt a surge of intense anger.
