Chapter 305
Bianca picked up the phone, and a familiar voice greeted her from the other end.
"Bet you're about ready to smash your phone, huh?" the voice teased.
Bianca rolled her eyes and flopped back onto the bed. "You called just to rub it in, didn't you? Isabella's snagged 40% of the company's shares and is now the CEO. There's nothing left for me to fight for."
The voice chuckled. "Your business sense is seriously lacking. And it seems like your brain's gone soft over John."
"Enough. If you don't have anything useful to say, just hang up. I'm not in the mood for your crap," Bianca snapped, ready to end the call.
But the voice on the other end cut in, sounding impatient. "Alright, alright, I'll stop. I called for a reason. You want to take down Isabella, right? Just because she's CEO now doesn't mean you can't get to her. Sometimes, the best way to break a fortress is from the inside."
Bianca paused, frowning. "What are you getting at? Are you saying I should go into the company and find someone to take her down?"
The voice went silent for a moment, then asked, surprised, "Didn't you watch Isabella's whole press conference?"
Bianca snorted. "I only caught a bit of it. I dropped my phone when I heard she was giving her inaugural speech."
The person on the phone sounded angry. "You're such an idiot. Do you think being John's girl means you can ignore all your enemies? You're clueless about business and overly arrogant. To beat an enemy, you need to understand them. Now go watch that damn press conference and call me back."
The call ended abruptly. Annoyed but curious, Bianca followed the advice and rewatched Isabella's press conference. Her eyes lit up when the last reporter asked about internal staff misconduct.
Bianca quickly redialed, and the voice answered.
"Finished watching? Know what to do next?" the voice asked coldly.
Bianca smirked. "I almost forgot about those troublemakers in the company. They must be freaking out now. But I don't have much contact with them. Can you give me some info?"
Soon, an email notification popped up on her phone.
"The info's in your inbox. It's got dirt on the company's internal staff. It might not take Isabella down, but it could give you some leverage," the voice said before hanging up.
Bianca carefully went through the email. When she finished, a cold smile spread across her face.
"Just wait, Isabella. This time, you're going down!" Bianca muttered, clenching her fist.
Meanwhile, Isabella strolled back into the CEO's office after the press conference.
Juliet was already there, looking thrilled to see her.
"Ms. Taylor, what do you need me to do?" Juliet asked eagerly.
Isabella settled into her chair, smiling. "Go find Ms. Lester, the head of HR, and ask her to come see me."
"On it, Ms. Taylor," Juliet said, hurrying out.
A few minutes later, Juliet returned with Carol. She knocked and stepped inside.
"Ms. Taylor, Ms. Lester is here," Juliet announced politely.
"Thanks, Juliet. You can go now," Isabella said, waving her off. Juliet left, closing the door behind her.
"I heard this assistant came from your old company. Not bad, she's not too nosy and follows orders well," Carol said with a smile, glancing at the door.
Isabella motioned for Carol to sit on the couch, then joined her, still smiling. "She's got potential. With the right guidance, she could become a top businesswoman someday."
"I trust your instincts, but you didn't call me here just to chat about your assistant, did you?" Carol asked, smiling.
Isabella shook her head, her expression turning serious. "I need to shake up the company's personnel. We need to get rid of those who supported my father, those who broke company rules, and John's people. He's been investing in the company for a long time; I'm sure he's planted his own people here."
Isabella laid out her plan, confident Carol would provide the information she needed.
Carol tilted her head, looking at Isabella with a smile. "Are you sure about this? Many of the rule-breakers are actually members of the Taylor Family. Some are even your elders. After the family fell apart, your father gave them jobs here. If you clear them all out, people might say you're heartless."
Isabella glanced at the gloomy sky outside the window. The gray clouds felt suffocating.
"When there's rot, the best way is to cut it all out and treat the healthy parts. Only then can the body heal. Holding onto the decay will just drag everything down, turning the company into a corpse for crows and vultures," Isabella said calmly.
Carol looked impressed and pulled out a USB drive. "Here's the info you wanted. You can investigate further, but be careful. Some of these people are pretty ruthless."
Isabella took the USB drive without flinching. "It's fine. I've faced death more times than I can count."
