Chapter 212

As Isabella and Kevin waited for the elevator, Isabella couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. She glanced around cautiously.

"What's up, Isabella?" Kevin asked, noticing her unease.

Isabella shrugged. "I don't know, maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I keep feeling like someone's got their eyes on me."

Kevin looked around too but didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

"Probably just some random person who couldn't help but stare. I mean, come on, Isabella, you're a knockout," Kevin said with a grin.

Isabella playfully tapped Kevin's arm. "Oh, Mr. Hamilton, you flatter me! But you're right. If this were a fairy tale, the magic mirror would definitely say I'm the fairest. Snow White would have to settle for second!"

Kevin chuckled. "Haha, Ms. Taylor, you've got quite the sense of humor."

Just then, the elevator doors opened, and they stepped inside, still smiling.

As the doors closed, Odette peeked out from behind a potted plant.

"I've got it all on camera, Isabella. Let's see you wiggle out of this one," Odette muttered, but her smirk quickly faded.

'No, just catching them entering the hotel isn't enough. They could just say they booked separate rooms or were talking business. I need more solid proof!' Odette thought, her brows knitting together as she watched the elevator numbers climb to the 27th floor. She was sure Isabella and Kevin were staying there.

Odette pondered for a moment, then hurried to the hotel lobby.

"Hi, I'm from Luminous Beauty. We're planning a company event here, and I noticed your 27th floor looks perfect for us. We'd like to book the whole floor. Is it currently occupied?" Odette asked the receptionist.

The receptionist checked the computer and apologized. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but one room on the 27th floor is occupied. However, the 29th floor is available if you'd like..."

The receptionist tried to persuade Odette to switch floors, but she shook her head firmly.

"I picked the 27th floor because it's our boss's lucky number today! How about this: give me the room number of the guest, and I'll talk to them about switching rooms," Odette suggested.

The receptionist shook his head. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but we can't disclose the room number of our guests."

Odette's eyes narrowed slightly. She had expected this and had a backup plan ready.

Odette smiled and said, "Alright, how about you give that guest a call and ask them to come down? I can talk to them personally."

The receptionist hesitated, then nodded. "I can do that. Please wait a moment."

As the receptionist dialed the room, Odette excused herself to the restroom and hid nearby.

When Kevin stepped out of the room, Odette quickly took the elevator up to the 27th floor.

She waited patiently and saw Kevin return to the room, looking annoyed. She made a mental note of the room number.

Kevin walked back in, still frowning. "Someone wanted to book the whole floor and asked to trade rooms with me, but when I arrived, they'd vanished. Strange."

Inside, Gabrielle was striking a pose while Isabella painted.

Isabella chuckled as she worked. "Maybe they had to leave in a hurry."

Gabrielle nodded in agreement.

Kevin moved behind Isabella, admiring the painting taking shape. "This is incredible, Isabella. Your skills are top-notch!"

Isabella blushed. "Mr. Hamilton, don't flatter me too much. I'll get shy. I'm not Leonardo da Vinci. I haven't even tried to paint the Mona Lisa... yet."

Gabrielle burst into laughter at Isabella's 'modesty.' "Oh, Isabella, that was hilarious! Give me a minute to catch my breath before you continue painting."

Isabella smiled and shook her head. "It's fine. I've got your pose memorized. Just don't move too far, and I can make it work."

As she painted, Isabella thought, 'That call earlier was probably Odette. She knows I'm in the same room as Mr. Hamilton. Time to move to the next phase of the plan.'

"Mr. Hamilton, excuse me for a moment. I need to use the restroom." Isabella stood up and walked to the bathroom, sending a quick message.

Soon, two police officers entered the hotel.

"We received a report about a possible peeping tom. The suspect is a short-haired woman. We're here to investigate," one officer said to the receptionist.

The receptionist thought for a moment and immediately remembered Odette. Her actions were peculiar: she had tried to reserve the entire floor, only to disappear upon the guest's arrival.

To verify, the receptionist called Luminous Beauty and found out there was no event planned.

"I'll take you to the surveillance room. Follow me," the receptionist said, realizing he'd been duped. He quickly led the officers to the surveillance room, where they soon spotted Odette on the 27th floor.

Odette was still using her phone to secretly snap pictures of Kevin's room door.

'How can I get inside and take more pictures? Maybe I can pretend to be room service,' she thought.

Then she had a brilliant idea: steal a staff uniform, wear a mask, and disguise herself as room service. If they hadn't ordered anything, she could say it was complimentary from the hotel.

Just as Odette stood up to put her plan into action, two burly police officers appeared in front of her.
