Chapter 11
Isabella stood there, totally stunned.
"Why'd they kick Bianca out of the hospital? No one messes with John's girl, right?" Isabella mumbled, scratching her head.
In the room, it was just Isabella and Michael. She always thought Michael was just some regular middle manager at the company, no way he'd know anything about the Williams Family.
Michael's eyes flickered open a bit. He didn't bother answering because he knew Isabella wasn't really looking for one.
"How about I peel an apple for you to munch on while you watch?" Michael said, heading over to the fruit basket. He grabbed an apple and started peeling it, nice and slow.
Isabella glanced over at Michael. His fingers were long and steady, and the apple peel came off in one long, unbroken strip.
"Didn't think you'd be so good at peeling apples," Isabella said, turning back to watch Bianca.
Michael smirked a little. Peeling apples wasn't the only thing he was good at.
Outside the hospital, Bianca was fuming, yelling her head off, but no one was paying her any mind.
"Do you even know who I am? I'm John's girlfriend! How dare you kick me out! You ready to face John's wrath?" Bianca screamed, pulling out her phone to call John.
But to her horror, she couldn't get through to him.
"Why is this happening? John, pick up! They're bullying me!" Bianca cried, hitting redial over and over.
Little did she know, John was already at city hall, finding out about Isabella's marriage from the staff.
John, furious, demanded to know who Isabella got the license with and asked for his records, but was denied due to insufficient clearance.
John thought, even if he didn't love Isabella, everyone knew she was supposed to marry him.
But now, Isabella had suddenly gotten married, making a fool out of him in front of everyone.
John tried calling Isabella, forgetting she was in surgery and couldn't answer. In a fit of rage, he smashed his phone, missing Bianca's call.
Outside the hospital, someone watched the restless Bianca with a mocking gaze, fueling her agitation even more.
"Don't get too cocky. John's dad will definitely help me!" Bianca shouted, dialing Owen.
This time, the call went through. But when Bianca said her name, a cold voice replied, "I don't know any Bianca; you've got the wrong number."
Bianca had the call on speaker, so everyone heard it loud and clear.
Her face went pale. Whoever had laughed at the hospital entrance had started a chain reaction, and now everyone was laughing.
Isabella, by the window, chuckled too, but then winced as her wound started to hurt from laughing too hard.
"Stop laughing for a bit; you don't want to reopen that wound," Michael said, handing Isabella the peeled apple.
"Thanks, but seeing her like this is just too satisfying," Isabella replied, taking small bites of the apple.
"I won't let you off! I definitely won't let you off!" Bianca was losing it, screaming at everyone outside.
Suddenly, Bianca looked up and saw Isabella munching on an apple by the window.
"Isabella, why aren't you dead yet? Did you do this? Did you have me thrown out of the hospital? You think John will fall for you like this, you bitch?" Bianca shrieked.
Isabella's mood soured. The apple didn't taste sweet anymore. She wanted to snap back, but every time she tried, her wound ached.
Suddenly, Isabella saw a ring of apple peel land squarely on Bianca's face.
Bianca was stunned. When she realized it was apple peel, she got even angrier.
"Isabella, you bitch! First, you splashed food on me, now you're throwing fruit! What makes you think you deserve to be Mrs. Williams?" Bianca yelled, throwing the peel back, but it fell short by six feet.
Isabella ignored Bianca's tantrum and turned to Michael, amazed.
"Did you just drop the apple peel?" Isabella asked, surprised. The angle formed between Bianca's position and Michael's standing spot required a precise maneuver to accurately toss the soft apple peel onto Bianca's face.
Michael shrugged, gently touching Isabella's hair. "I'm a gentleman. I wouldn't do something as rude as throwing apple peel at Bianca."
Michael's serious face made Isabella laugh, but she quickly stopped to avoid hurting her wound.
"Then where did the apple peel go? I bet it's not in the trash," Isabella said, curious.
Michael grinned. "I ate it, obviously. Apple peels are full of vitamin C. That's why I look this good."
Isabella couldn't help but laugh again.
Down below, Bianca saw Isabella ignoring her, chatting and laughing with someone, which made her even angrier.
"Isabella, you bitch! I'll kill you! I swear I'll kill you!" Bianca kept screaming.
Suddenly, a car pulled up, and John jumped out.
Seeing John, Bianca burst into tears. "John, help me! I don't know why I got kicked out, and that bitch Isabella threw apple peel at me."
John looked up at the window, but Michael had already moved Isabella out of sight.
What shocked Bianca was John's response. "I'll take you to another hospital."
